Train wraps made from corn? It is not a gimmick. It is 3M innovation
Fleetshield now applies 3M films that incorporate up to 47 percent bio based content derived from renewable, non-food source corn in their Envision Print Wrap lineup. This includes PL50mC and LX480mC. The result is sustainable protection and impactful design for trains, without any compromise on performance or durability.
What is in a foil?
Traditional graphic foils rely on fossil based materials. The 3M Envision series replaces part of that with renewable materials like corn starch, delivering all the high performance benefits rail operators and OEMs expect. That includes UV resistance, graffiti protection and long term durability, all with a significantly lower environmental footprint.
These bio based films are:
PVC free and phthalate free, offering a cleaner alternative
Backed by 3M’s fast and bubble free Comply and Controltac technologies
Compatible with latex, UV and eco solvent digital printing
Made with up to 47 percent renewable corn based feedstock
Why it matters
Greener mobility is about more than propulsion. It starts with the materials we choose. Bio-based foils help reduce your fleet’s carbon footprint, support circular procurement goals and send a clear sustainability message. Because these films offer the same performance as conventional wraps, there is no compromise in protection or visual impact.
Fleetshield makes innovation work in practice
